    Thank you. It will be a few days but I'll check the side covers to investigate. I have some experience with the 8n and 641 lifts. Just couldn't figure something that would cause a quick issue like that.

    Using 9n with scoop to move dirt and was working fine. All of a sudden it stopped lifting. Oil full, no noise or anything when it stopped. Maybe a valve? It had been good and strong previously. Thanks

    Ground

    So I painted my 8N, and like always I lost grounding to my lights. So I was wondering when these were painted at the factory, how did they guarantee grounded parts. For example; Fender to axle housing? I end up just running grounds as needed.

    I didn't have a shift rail set screw properly in its hole. Does Ace or Home Depot have the detent (roller) balls?

    Got my gears replaced, bearings replaced with races and put it all back together with new clutch. Works great except....no 4th gear whatsoever. Any thoughts?

    Lower the Speed?

    Thanks. Really wanting it to go slower sometimes when mowing, love the old red/white tractors best and wanted to stay with them. Wonder about a Super A with finish mower.

    I am aware there is a rare old sherman trans that would lower the ground speed of an 8n. Is it feasible to find one, is there another newer one, or what old Ford would prove good for say a roto tiller?

    All of the reverse idler assembly looks good. There is about an 1/8" movement forward and aft but it seems that is ok?

    Looks like it has replaceable bushings.
