    gas

    I was told i should run a higher octaine gas such as 110 octaine gas in my farmall 340 for pulling, would this make it pull any better has anybody done this, just looking for advice.

    PTO or not?????

    Can anyone tell me if a farmall 340 will run without the pto? i would like to remove it for tractor pulling if my club rules will allow it. Also where can a get a used delete plate if this is possiable?

    pulling drawbar?

    thanks for all the interesting replys, i think i will try the 18" the first weekend and see what happend. I have invested in 3 sets of wheel weights because i feel that i do not want all that weight behind me with a short tractor?!!

    I have a farmall 340 that i will be pulling and because it is a short tractor i was wanting some thoughts on how far out i should have the drawbar? i belive we are allowed 18" form center of rear end? so is it better short or long with a short tractor? thanks

    Thanks everyone for your input. I'am hoping to enter the 340 in 5,6 & 7000lbs classes, do ya have any idea why the 340 did not pull so good? I'am new to this pulling game, what do you think is a real good pulling tractor for these weight class?

    I have a farmall 340 that I am getting ready to put in the pulls, I hear people talk about putting a hotter coil & wires on to get better performance so I was wondering how this worked? I would also like some ideas on how people mount there wheel weights, somthing easy. Thanks
