    OT- 97 Tahoe 4L60E Transmission issues

    I had a 97 GMC Sierra with the 4l60e going out at 133k. Had it rebuilt for $1500. This is typical. Weird that the whole thing went out. At least my second gear worked so I could move it around.

    If I were to do it all over again and from what I learned after I purchased an 8N, I'd check the following: Does the 3 point lift and stay up with weight on it for at least a few minutes with clutch in or PTO shut off? Does the tranny oil look thick and fresh - not milky? Are the tires loaded...

    Wheel weight fitment?

    Found some wheel weights on craigslist. They are a full circle style. the part number is C7NN-1A00-A. Would these fit a 49 N?? If so, does anyone know what they weigh off hand? Owner doesn't know much about them.

    carb keeps flooding and wont start

    My issue was similar with a '49 front mount. After you check plugs, points, etc. I ended up having to turn the gas on 1/4 turn! I know the float is probably mis-adjusted after a carb rebuild but this small change prevented me from taking the carb off another 15 times.

    FORD 8N QUESTION

    Tons of info on this site about this common issue. Search for 3 point dropping, lift cylinder, etc. Endless amount of troubleshooting tactics and rebuild techniques. I rebuilt mine from info on this site but first step is to diagnose problem.
