    How bout U ole geezers

I am 74. When I was 9 Dad put me to plowing with a TE20 Ferguson. 2/14"s on the 3ph and 2nd gear. From there we went to a TO30,A Ford 800,a Ford 641 and a later model Ford 2000. Then it was a SM Farmall and a 3 bottom MH plow. After that it was a 706 ger diesel and a 4/16 semi mount plow. The...

    No Choke MF65

Aaron; Are you able to start the engine without the choke and then use the choke some to keep it running untill it is warmed up a little. I had two tractors like that. I had changed them to 12 volt and the engines had been rebuilt. I dont think you need to lean it out. steve

    Farmall 656 motor issues

Andy; sounds ok to me but I am used to diesel. For comparison I had a 706 with the ger.engine. Pulled a 15'tandem disk with bar harrow and had a 4/16 fast hitch plow.I had plenty of power but not enuf traction, even with loaded tires. I would run in 4/low with the TA up. Tach said I was going...

    Auger question

I never had down pressure on my auger. You need to keep the point clean. A little bit of grass or a root on the point will keep it from cutting in. BE CAREFUL stephen

    Electrical Question

Gary; No,there are not enuf nuterals. And increase the size of the ground wire to #12. It looks like he has 3 20 amp circuits and 2 15 amp circuits. He should have a nuteral with each circuit. 5 hots and 5 nuterals. Use the green as a redundent ground. Stephen

    propane tractors

A long time ago(summer of 1956)the farmer I worked for had a MH44 and a MMUB on propane. The most I could put thru the U was 3gal./hr.The 44 a little less. And the MH55 diesel somewhere in between. I would not hesitate to buy a propane fuled tractor if it was in decent condition and what I...

    Ferg 3x12 plow

Leroy; I thought about the power adjust wheels later. By the time they came out with power adjust wheels we had enuf Fords and Fergusons on the place we didnt have to set them in or out anymore. Stephen

    Ferg 3x12 plow

Seems we were always setting the tires in or out. If you just change the right side the tire will be on backward an you wont get good traction. Also use a good jack and set your tires before you fill them with water. Be carefu and get someone to help out. Stephen

what causes the z 134 to crack?

94yj We had a te20 and a to30,the 30 for 50 years and never cracked the block on either one. Probably the 2 causes of cracked blocks would be working the tractor too hard and having it overheat or not a strong enuf mix of anti freeze. We ran our tractors steady but not hard, mabe about 1700...

Can I tow a trailer with drawbar on 3 pt. arms?

We always used the drawbar stay straps that went from the drawbar up to where the top link fastened. You have to make sure your draft control levr is all the way down and the pto is out of gear. Unless you are pulling a pto driven machine. So yes,you can use that method to pull a trailor. Stephen
