    I put the original size of 12.4 on my all fuel AN. It just looks right. Bigger looks more modern to me. Remember, original 11.2 is the same as today's 12.4.

    That's a great point, about the odd timing of spark. If the right hand cylinder fires second then that could certainly be the issue. I'll be checking in to it this weekend, thanks!

    I should have mentioned it's on magneto. I've tried two wires but they were both old, and I can't find any locally so that's why I'm just assuming at this point. I'll peek inside the magneto while I'm waiting for the wires to ship. Thanks for the suggestions!

    Cleaning cooling system

    My '46 A had been sitting outside for a long time with an open cooling system. The cylinder head was literally packed solid with actual dirt. The upper water pipe was rusty but the rest was just hard dry dirt that I had to dig out with a chisel and hammer. Strangely, the dirt does not soak up...
