    8n brakes

I get tired of fighting with the axle seals. I replaced once and it seemed like in no time, they leaked again. I had an extra set of drums, so I drilled some holes in a set. I thought that reduced area would give a little more friction and help, not to mention it might keep oil from...

    Ballast resistor

Need opinion. Tractor is converted to 12 volt but I don't think there is a ballast resistor. I burned out a coIL that was not very old, and said right on the side no resistor required. Do I need one anyway?

    naa steering bearings

I have an NAA with a bad top bearing on the steering shaft. I bought top and bottom, plus the very top bushing and spring. When I look at these new bearings (I bought em here) the just don't seem to want to fit in the bearing race like I expect. Maybe I expect them to act like tapered roller...

Can Jubilee steering box be rebuilt pretty easily?

A local (maybe a loco?) tells me I have a bad bearing in the bottom of the steering box. Its really hard to steer, and it does that thing where you can see the steering wheel raise and lower a little as it fights on the internal threads. I'm not ascared to tear into it, but am looking for a...

    too much juice

I need to borrow the multi meter again and see. I sort of recall it being around 16 V.

    too much juice

I'm sure its a voltmeter. This is on a jubilee, by the way. I have seen conversion kits where there is an external resistor as part of the kit. I am not sure I see that on my tractor (although I need to look again). Anybody have opinion on the necessity of such a resistor?

    too much juice

I bought a tractor that had been converted to 12v, and it started to overcharge the battery. I was advised the single wire generator has a built in regulator and that was the issue, so I replaced it. Same. Still pegs the volt meter over 14 volts. Cooked a battery Was told to run a...

    overcharge!

I bought a tractor that had been converted to 12v, and it started to overcharge the battery. I was advised the single wire generator has a built in regulator and that was the issue, so I replaced it. Same. Still 14 volts. Was told to run a ground wire from generator housing to the...
