    OT Wasp

I have used the "foam " that tackhammer suggested, it coats them . However, for a residual around the house, shop and garage I use a product called,"DEMON' buy mine at a swimming pool supply house, but have seen it at TSC. Spray the surfaces about twice a year and don't hardly find wasp nest...

    9N will not start

Understand that the battery is new. However, may I suggest that the battery be "load tested", by your friendly parts store or auto shop. It may measure 6.5 volts forever, but what does it do under a load? I formerly handled batteries as a employee of whlse tire distributor. Just my thought.

    OT - Willys Jeep

a vendor of fleabay, www.surplusjeep.com has manuals listed for sale. As I recall the distributor is so robust it is not readily apparent, but the plug wires do lead to it.

My tractor is a 1952 8N after sr#263xxx, positive ground, 6 volt. PROBLEM: When I cranked it Thursday it was very slow to crank/fire. Battery had just been charged. Diagnosed with gout in 1973, then learned father and brother also suffered from it. I take PROBENECID 0.5gm 4X DAILY. Haven't had an attack since 1973. However twice young doctors changed my meds to a new one and I went to the ER with an allergic reaction for each. Personally I haven't had a...

    OT-Mosin

In regards to the possible interchangeability of ammo: US mortar 81mm - Russian 82mm US Machine Gun Cal .50 - Chicom .52 I feel sure that the US made 81mm mortar rounds would function in the Russian 82mm tube. Whether or not our 50cal rounds would work in the Chi-com 52 I don't know.

    Oil change questions

I use a 1 1/16" socket now. That way I don't round off the edges of the plug, as I did with a pipe wrench.

    genny update '47 8N

Had one rebuilt here in East Texas with 1 yr warranty for $75.00. On the web is a place in California. you send it to them and they guaranteed a return in about 10 days I believe for about the same money I payed, plus the out bound freight.

    8n oil change

Plug Removal. Suggest you purchase a 1 1/16" socket. So no damaged threads. Easier to hold onto than a pipe wrench, does not round off the edges, and it works to remove the Hydraulic fluid also.

    8N Lift

The tractor is a 1952 8N after sr#216xxx, side mount distributor, 4 speed. 6volt, positive grnd. Situation: The lift would no longer "lift" an implement. It would until recently, but always leak down quickly , if motor was shut off. Couple months ago I did the Quick fix of changing the fluid...

    8N drain plug

Bus Driver, Don't have a part #, I could not find my receipt for the 1 1/16" socket from Northern Tool, and I know they only show sets in the catalog. The Northern Tool I shop at is just at the beginning of my neighborhood, so I just ran in and picked it up.

After getting hit in head, glancing blow from slipping wrench from my helper. I purchased the 1 1/16" Socket from Northern Tool. Long hvy duty socket wrench at farm auction. Now I have the right tool to drain. It is hard to hold a wrench on the plug, while holding your arm and the wrench up...
