    on a 1800 the power steering it is hard to turn at idle and full throttle but the second you lift of use a hydro remote the steering works like a dream is there a check valve or some thing that will make this happen we have also put a new hydro pump in this tractor

    I Need Help!!!

    i would take a ohm meter and check the Resistance in all the wires it will tell you if the wires. if the wire has a few broken stands in it. it will not let the power come. take the leads on the meter and put one in each end.

    i have seen the lift cylinders rust on the inside of them so they wont go down i would undo the hoses and see if it will go down

    you could also do a blow threw test where you pull the injectors, valve cover, radiator cap, and the oil fill cap roll each cylinder up on the compression stroke and take a air hose with a good a rubber nozzle and put it in the injector hole and see if it airs up or if it blows in oil pan or...

    i would contact local caterpillar dealer and see if they have a oil lab and if not find out where the closest one is and pull a sample it will tell you what the shavings are.
