570 Cockshutt

Hey guys the reason Im writing this is I have an old Cockshutt 570 diesel that blows bubbles in the rad. Now I overheated it last winter and this summer I noticed it. There is no oil in the antifreeze and no antifreeze in the oil. Im thinking the bubbles are coming from 1 cracked head, 2 blown head gasket or 3 cavitation on the water pump. I dont want to pull the head if I dont have to as the gaskets are $300. Will a compression tester screw into the holes for the injectors. I should mention that it starts good and runs good.
Thanks for any advice

Oh man I only did one of these, but we had a customer with pretty much the same problem and it had been overheated. The problem with his was the tubes that the injectors sit in got distorted and leaked. Send me an e-mail address and we can talk about it. Oh by the way a friend of mine bought a 570 several years ago and that one also had been overheated and they had to surface the head.

I remember I had to purchase an adapter to test it as it was a different size than the Oliver. I think it was a 7 psi cap.

you could also do a blow threw test where you pull the injectors, valve cover, radiator cap, and the oil fill cap roll each cylinder up on the compression stroke and take a air hose with a good a rubber nozzle and put it in the injector hole and see if it airs up or if it blows in oil pan or radiator will bubble you will then know if head gasket problem.
