Ford 861 Right-hand Brake Pedal Adjustment
I thought about your issue a couple of days and even went and measured the pedal height on my 58 861D, I just replaced my right side shoes 3 months ago. I have the same issue and my pedal height is the same as showcrop has 3", I don't think it's the shoes or springs. It may be possible... -

I agree with weldingman , I purchased a reliance kit from the machine shop that boiled the block and did the rebuild on the head. I couldn't be happier with reliance kits, easy installation and great fit this on my 58 861D. This is what I started with when I bought it, hard to believe it... -

I finally got around to finishing the headlights for my 58 861D, these I purchased on eBay for cheap. Reason for the price was the condition they were in ( knew this going in), they had been sitting on the ground half buried. I ran them through my blasting cabinet and lots of pin holes...- tugman

air funnel for 841D

Question about rebuild
As far as the pal nuts I did not use them on my 58 861D when I rebuilt it two years ago, but for the return line it is part # 31140 on the cnh website but I don't know if they are available anymore. For my return line I used a good quality o ring and it's been fine , I think I ended up using... -

Clear coat
This reply is a bit late but... I used vansickel acrylic lacquer clear coat with their hardener over cnh enamel on my 58 861D, their clear coat is formulated for use over enamel. Be sure to follow their guidelines for your basecoat enamel to be cured, I waited 2 days but also used their...- tugman

I agree with showcrop, I did a Google search of 861D 's and found that they were gray. I did use cnh enamel with hardener and sprayed it with a hvlp gun , also clear coat all the tin I added hardener to the clear as well. The two pictures are taken hours apart at different angles so you... -
