    Smalley elevator

Yepper, the older hay and grain elevator. Got to looking again the other day and came across a Owatonna 205 elevator brochure. The cover picture was almost identical to the Smalley 205 brochure other than the color of the wheels. Any idea about the build years for these? Thanks.

New Holland 315/ 316 pan kicker, will it work?

Yepper, you'll have to move the plunger side wheel back. New Holland has a axle plate that bolts on in order to do so. When you add a thrower it shifts weight to the rear and will cause balance issues otherwise. Reminds me of a neighbor years ago that was baling one day, looked back in time to...

I am going to try and scratch build one. Have saved pictures I found online, few and far between. Does anyone here have any experience with them?

    4600 again

I have new parts coming in, so I've been trying to see how they install. Only video I have found seems to indicate that you need to pull the oil pump drive shaft out to put it together. My question is how do you get everything installed without out it separating during reinstalling. Thanks in...

    4600 again

I know you guys are probably tired of this, but my poor abused tractor is getting fixed slowly. When I bough it the instrument cluster was shot. Obviously it was setting outside because the tachometer was rusted up. Bought a new cluster and wiring harness, warning lights now work, so that's...

    hay making reference book

If you can find one, Morrisons Feeds and Feeding is an excellent manual for beginners. I have a 1962 copy. A lot of the recommendations seem to be pretty close to numbers from books dated much later.

    Instrument panel lamp holder

Trying to get my 4600 back to decent condition. New wiring, steering repaired plus other miscellaneous fixes. Have two issues yet, tachometer drive and shorted lamp holder. It's the one that holds the lighting for the panel. Single wire with metal prongs. Found some online that fit a Mustang...

    IH disc plow

Going back to my records, a mid 90hp tractor would pull a 24 blade one-way. Width of cut would be 15 to 18 foot. Working depth of about 2.5 inches and pulled about 4.5 mph.

Dryland wheat and milo on the high plains. Used on dryland farms in Australia also. I put several hours in front of one when we lived in Queensland.

Didn't mean any disrespect. I enjoy your postings, really like seeing what we've lost over the years.

Literature---1969 FORD Full Line Brochure Pt2

Curious, no mention of the 309 mounted planter. It's a shame that agriculture and farming have changed so much in the last 50 years so we've lost so many manufacturers.

Literature---1969 FORD Full Line Brochure Pt.1

Thanks, I have several of the individual equipment brochures from the later '70's. Used to have a bunch of papers from the late '60's , but discarded it when we moved. Had a whole lot of Oliver, New Holland, JD, and other barn and milking equipment papers as well. Seriously want to smack myself...

    Ford tractor salvage

Does anyone knows a tractor salvage yard that might have power steering parts. I need the sump for a 4600. It's the box on the steering column that the lines from the pump connect to. Thanks.
