From experience, make sure the governor spring in not rubbing against the side of the block. Like to hook the spring to the governor rod outside-in -

Replacing the differential on a Ford 601
The differential assembly is removed by removing the left axle housing and the left axle. If the pinion shaft needs repair, the lift chest needs to be removed and a split between the center housing and the transmission. The PTO can be left as it is. -

Crankshaft Pulley Removal 600
If you are just needing to replace the pulley, the four bolts. using an 11/16 wrench will remove the pulley and you will not have to worry about the big nut. -

1955 Ford 700 row crop steering worm gear
There should be some shims between the front housing and the mounting cap, .four bolts holding it, holding the horizontal shaft which should get the two gears closer together -

1957 Ford Work Master power steering drive pully
The hub is splined to the crankshaft and if the four bolts holding the pulleys to the hub are removed therein should be the answer to your question! -

861 PTO pops out of gear
A broken spring (71) is more than likely the problem. A transmission center housing will be necessary to get to the problem
