Redgems,How about those clouds and how blue the sky is, sky looks like a painting or something, almost doesn't look real. don't notice that stuff sometime until you look at a pic for awhile.By the way, have seen pics of your UTN, nice looking tractor, well done.

    Making Hay MM style

Makes sense. You know, I've never seen an actual front factory weight bracket for U's or UB's. Was there one available? I know there were front wheel weights (those are hard to find) Grandfather's 602 has those on it.

    Making Hay MM style

Handles it pretty good. I think he runs high 1st most of the time when the hay is real heavy. Occasionally torques back. 570 New Holland can really pump out some bales. You know it's back there.

Yes, that is a weight bracket, but don't honestly know if that's factory or not. Never tried to put any wts on it, I assume MM suitcase weights would fit.

Baling Hay today in Central IL. Beautiful sunny and 70 degrees in July! 48 UTU on the hay rake, late grandfather's 55 UB Special diesel to move loads, and neighbor doing the baling on his U-302 Super.

    U Moline HP

Here's the deal. I put the motor together and the pistons came up through the blocks. I used 336 blocks and the U rods. Obviously a problem. I talked to a man who had over 40 years of experience with MM motors. He told me their was a difference in the crankcases and told me I needed spacers. I...

Use later jugs off of a 670. They would be the same part number as an M5 block but get them off of a 670 instead because they will have more webbing up inside making them just a touch heavier. You can bore them that far with no problem. U jugs would be a different story though. Also, if you do...

    U Moline HP

If you get a set of 4.81 bore pistons from welters and leave stock 5" stroke that puts you about 363 cubes. I have a U that I pull with this set up, I have 4232 heads on it, run about 20% over on rpm (approx 1750) rebuilt the governor and carb and put on electronic ignition and recurved the...

    U manifold

670 LP manifolds work well, gives you a little more room between exhaust manifold and sheet metal but not much. 670 lp manifolds are a little more streamline than the M5/602 gas and flow even better yet.
