Center ramp for jd 50
If it is a car trailer and low to the ground you may not even need a center ramp. Pull up slow to the back of the trailer and let the front end walk up it. I've loaded a Farmall H many times on my friends car trailer this way.- zilla24

I do have a follow up question.... I have read the power steering manual and am looking for an interpretation on the torque value on the 5/8" bolts that hold the vane assembly together. Page 10-30-7 says to torque the long bolts first to 150lbs. Next, torque the remaining bolts to 150...- zilla24

Thanks for the feedback, I ended up going down to a .004" shim which is pretty much the lowest I can go. I still have a little bit of play, with older worn components its probably the best I can hope for.- zilla24

JD720 Lower water pump tube install. Fought getting the tube pressed in the oring from the pump to the motor and have exhausted every thing I can thin
When I replaced the water pump on my 520 I installed the tube and o-ring in the pump out of the tractor, i used a little Vaseline on the o-ring which helped it to engage. This is pretty much my concern, my power steering rebuild started as a simple pump re-seal and turned into a complete system teardown, I've had it in my head if I start this project its going to be a complete re-do. I like the idea of leak checking things before putting everything back...- zilla24

520 Water Pump Rebuild
Recently acquired a 520 with a bad water pump, I ordered a reman OEM pump to get the tractor going but would like to rebuild the original as a back-up. Ford 5000 Gas won't start
Just put the freshly charged battery in and bumped the starter, fired right up! I’ll have to do my part this winter to keep it running once in awhile, I’d rather not repeat this process any sooner than needed. -

Little update after parts arrival.. First I replaced the plugs and wires, to my surprise I still didn't have spark. I went ahead and replaced the points and condenser and now have spark. Not sure what happened, its possible I damaged the points or moved something when attempting to clean them... -

Went ahead and checked and dressed up the points, they were actually pretty clean to start. Going back through a spark check on the plugs revealed weak spark on #2 and nothing on #1. #1 wire has a break internally, a continuity check revealed high resistance. Just ordered a tune-up kit... -

Gas is definitely not the best, I did add 2 gallons of fresh which means I have 3 gallons of sour now. lol. I'll double check the points as precautionary, thanks for advising on that.
