    MF50 power steering filter

    Question about power steering filter on MF50. Can anyone tell me the correct filter? It is a John Barnes Corp power steering pump. 182493M92. The Barnes number is #GCMH34042. The outside diameter of the filter is about 2 1/16 in. Thanks!

    crazy price on stamped steel air cleaner bracket

    you know the little stamped steel piece that holds in the air filter on a MF 165. Mine is gone, thought I would order one from the dealer. $179.99 for that little piece without the thumbscrew. I am serious and so was he. Well, a piece of wire and a wooden wedge works ok. :roll:

    Need schematic of switch wiring for MF 65 gasoline

    Part of my problems were a onewire alternator without a plug, so terminals were exposed and PO wired it like it was regulated. It is a 1959 model, so was it 12 volts originally? They have a resistor wired before the coil. Now I need to sort out the switch wiring.

    Parts arrived today. Now all I have to do is decide which way the spring bracket is supposed to mount, like they show it in the parts manual? or opposite? there is a groove worn that would indicate opposite. Thanks, Vermont Tractor Parts, LLC

    Photo of throttle mess

    These photos show what they have done. Arrow points to the loose lever with the small hole in the end that I asked about in another post. I need a parts list just to see what I will need.

    What has to be removed to replace throttle friction disc?

    and second question; on the bottom of throttle assembly there is a curved arm attached to the part that connects to throttle rod. This arm swings freely and has a hole in the end. What is it? what should it connect to?

    Alternator wiring question

    Internal regulated alternator. Wire from B terminal goes to B term of Switch. Second wire from B term jumpers to Alternator 2 wire plug. Other wire from alternator plug goes to B terminal of switch. Anyone have a diagram of how it should be wired?

    2 gas engines in early 65s.

    Read there were two gasoline engines in early 65 tractors. Mine is 1959, and of course the plate is gone off the engine. How can I ID my engine? Are there any external differences? Also need star washer and friction plates for throttle linkage, are these available from dealer?

    Tire question

    What is today's best option to prevent flat tires when hogging overgrown pastures. Been 3 years since it was cut, have lots of locust, honey locust, barberry and autumn olive. Now have flats front and rear. The liners I used in the 60's are no longer available. What do you do?

    Case 475 buy or not to buy

    I have found a Case 475 in supposedly good condition and the price is right. Never owned a Case. Is this something a decrepit 74 old can buy and use till he goes home without it costing an arm and a leg? Always had MF. Are parts available at reasonable cost? Can't make a decision. Need input.

    How does a loader normally mount on MF50?

    Any chance of finding a loader for my MF 50? I have a loader that is a bit too heavy, I think it came off a 185. The bucket is made of 1/4 inch steel. I would settle for a trip bucket loader!
