644a oil pan, 6-404 pan compatibility
Does anyone know if all 6-404 oil pans are compatible? I cracked my 644a s oil pan trying to extract a broken fitting and I d rather not do an epoxy repair but finding the construction specific oil pan is proving very difficult. I have the space under the engine for a different sump arrangement...- North Maine

644a injector with soot around it
While running my 644a today equipped with a 60s vintage 6-404 diesel I saw some soot around the #3 injector. Upon closer inspection. I could see the injector moving with each compression stroke. I?ve never pulled this type of injector before... my 3020 and 2955 are/were pencil style...- North Maine
