Thanks Tony Can you give me a little more info please. I knew the gas was suppose to be a 158. But has some odd features for a '68. The diesel was suppose to be a 175 and may be a 64 or 74. A '65 tractor. With features from a even later model. 192 would make it 80's-90's and like... -

3000 OH said it well, Sometimes you pay the higher prices to support the local dealer. Unfortunately us little guys cant afford do that. We do it when we are forced to. I like to support the local people and do it when i can. But i cant ignore 30-40-50-60% difference in prices either... -

I will have to sand blast the gas to try to bring up more numbers, it doesn't look like there are any?? I would like to run the 2 quart Fleet guard as they seem to have better microns. though that data is hard to find. I put a magnet on filters too,Not the 100.00 kind. It cost nothing... -

Hi guys, if its in the manual I haven't gotten to it yet. There is a TON of reading there. Both are 3000's '68 gas with canister filter and hex plug under and hex freeze plugs. Ear has 70280 if there's more i will have to sand blast. Along pan Star N263152 star Block C5NN6015... -

Thanks The regulator is not a problem, I have done too many to count. I have 2 3000's A '68 gas i am working on and a '65 diesel that's locked up. Both have the hex plug. The diesel has a spin on and No adapter. I haven't delved into casting numbers, But i get the feeling that i should. -

On the 5000, is it a Lucas starter? How did the drive feel, there are dogs inside that let it slip one way and lock the other It should feel FIRM and smooth. Is there wear on the shift fork? Some starters have a adjustment on the shift fork throw. ( bench check adjustment) If you jump it... -

Thanks HoBo These arms have had dents in them, no evidence of breaks, and have been reinforced in key points. And i have read about the no cross member mid point. I didn't realize it put that much stress on the loader lifting the machine , getting out of a hole, lifting the front end...- MMMarvis

FEL for 8N
I meant my experience is the front pumps, external pumps are usually bigger more powerful that the pumps built into any tractor. I thought it should lift more, and 1400psi is low on a system that can handle 2000-2500. Though many relief valves are pre set at 2000-2200- MMMarvis

The manual say with the front pump, 1400 psi 13 gal system the FEL only has 85% of the power of the under seat on board hyd system. 1060 lbs vs 1250 lifting.- MMMarvis
