    Farmall M overhaul

I should have put my cheaters on earlier so I could see the manual better. I found what the IH manual says. Skirt clearance on sleeve. .0055-.0065. A 1/2 wide ribbon gauge may be used as a Go gauge with a light pull of 2 to 4 pounds. A .006 ribbon may be used as a No Go gauge with a tight pull...

    Farmall M overhaul

I am doing a major overhaul on a late 1949 Farmall M. I ordered the complete kit through Yesterday's Tractor. They can not get me the recommended ring gap. I have read that .003-.004 per inch of bore is a good rule of thumb. I am trying to find what is recommended for the piston to cylinder...

    706 electrical diagram

Not sure, a 756 would have an alternator like the later 706.

    706 electrical diagram

It looks like the cigarette lighter got its power from the starter solenoid on some models as well. This might be a better place because I could run a lead to it with an in-line fuse. Plus it would handle the amperage better.

    706 electrical diagram

They aren't listed on there. I found the cigarette lighter gets power from the junction block. It was in the operators manual. I am still looking for the air filter restriction gauge and sensor circuit. Mine was wired with the power wire coming from the push button to the gauge, then from the...

    706 electrical diagram

I've been rewiring my 1964 gas 706 and am looking for a wiring diagram on the air filter restriction indicator and sensor circuit. Also I am looking for a schematic for the cigarette lighter so I can see where it is supposed to get it's power from. Thanks.

    706 harness routing

I just installed new harnesses on my 1964 gas 706. My question is about the harness routing to the generator. Does it route between the top radiator hose and the cylinder head or between the top radiator hose and the air cleaner bracket? The original harness was routed between the top...

    WD 45 factory power steering

I have someone who wants me to replace the power steering pump seal on his WD 45 with factory power steering. I have never worked on an Allis of any kind so my knowledge on them is not too good. What all do I need to do to get his tractor up and running? Thanks.

    1566 black or white stripe?

I have read that the Black Stripe tractors came out in late, late 75 and 76. So if you actually have a 75 it should be a white stripe unless it was made in the last days of 75. The 86 series came out in the fall of 76. I have included the first 1086 off the line.

    400 engine swap

I'm not saying I will do it for sure or not but the thought of being able to say "ya I built that" would be fun. The more I read on it the more I think it is possible. I don't need it to farm with so it would be more of a toy. I always appreciate your knowledge and experience.

    400 engine swap

If you were closer I'd help lol... I was reading last night how people have been putting them in the 560's, and being how IH didn't really ever change too much, I think it is possible.

    400 engine swap

Ok, humor me here. I am just wondering if you can install a DT466 into a Farmall 400. If you can what all has to be done to get it to couple to the transmission? It would be a project just for fun.

    41 M stuck cam followers

Funny thing is the oil pan was full of oil and the radiator still had some coolant in it. The two didn't cross paths either. It reminds me of what the older automotive engines used to look like with the old formulation of Pennzoil. Then fast forward several years later to when that sludge was...

    41 M stuck cam followers

I have a 1941 Farmall M that I am just starting on. The owner wants me to get it running again. The engine has been stuck for at least 15 years and the tractor hasn't ran longer than that. At least it was in a shed. The engine has a lot of rusty crud in it from old oil sludge and condensation...

what engine will bolt in 4010

I would look for a 404. An FYI on the 4020 gas motors. The late 4020's gas engine is a different block than the early engines and the piston and sleeves are only available through Deere. The parts will be expensive$$$. The earlier block is a lot more common and you can get parts for them from...
