    Gas to diesel

    Im looking at a 4010 that was originally a gas and now has a Diesel engine. Looks like a good conversion. Assuming its done well are there any internal differences between a gas and diesel ? Transmission rear end etc.

    Thanks BD. That was the plan. No cuts in hood and could easily put back to original. TimS has spent a lot of time on the layout to be sure it all fits under hood without any other modifications.

    new generation 10/20 series question?

    We have a 4000 and 3020. Pretty much auger/yard tractors. I grew up w them and I love the simplicity of them. Nothing like heading down the road on an open station tractor on a nice fall day. We will always have them around.

    4020 starter

    Yes Gary. I’m in Canada. Ordered it off amazon...Not something I do very often. It’s only been about two years. Same concept as on our 8R tractors. Gear reduction spins it over faster and effortlessly. Good luck.

    Google search 4020 gear reduction starter. Cheap and works awesome. Spins over much faster. You can buy two for what one cost to rebuild one original.

    Yep a B213R is a synchro 4000 similarly a T 213R is a 4020 synchro. You can look them up bu doing a google search. Good luck.

    Ya we didn?t plan on the weights being the step. It just worked out that way. Even when weights are off the bracket is a handy step.     Couple pics of the finished product. Fit under hood is very good. The fresh air line from filter to turbo is the biggest challenge. Exhaust fits original opening in hood perfectly. I think I will put on a K&N type filter that will connect directly to turbo intake and fit under the hood and...

    My son is reworking our 70 3020 diesel side console. I helped him block it up and get ready to tear down. Told him how to loosen axle wedges.
