Hi all,
I have a John Deere 4020 gas with 12 volt system serial number 115xxx.
It's going to need a new starter soon and the one on it has a housing number of 1107320. Seems that number is for a Chevrolet 327. I see several different aftermarket/rebuilt starters listed for it. Is the only difference the number of teeth and 12V vs 24V? I see some with the housing of the starter the same size as the drive housing (bolts on the inside) and some with the housing smaller (bolts on the outside). Is one better than the other?
Any help is appreciated
