    Thanks, that makes sense. It didn't seem to wobble when I got it but that has been 5 years now.

    I noticed my 2000 ford 3cy gas exhaust pipe wobbles a little bit. I tried to tighten it and it doesn't seem to be loose. I have not removed sheet metal yet to see what is going on. Is it normal for them to wobble a little? Thanks all.

    I added this to an old post but not sure anyone would see it. If you have a ford 2000 with 12v lucas generator and need new springs, there are 2 kinds. Round coils is what the parts book says, but mine had no identifying markings and had flat clock spring type springs. I figured it out it ws...

    THere is another version without the intro but the whole thing. This one seems to be missing the middle part. Regardless, Reed is fantastic and doesnt even use the one finger most guitarists use! Listening to him you would swear he uses all 5.

    I think I figured it out. Messicks shows one for david brown tractors that appear to have the correct springs. It was a different part number than the ford. Probably in an aftermarket swap they got switched. I will know in a few days. I ordered them..

    A brush broke on my 72 ford 2000 3cyl gas generator. Got new brushes and then broke the spring putting it together. I am having trouble figuring out which spring to order. AI says the Lucas generator is 22756....I found one set of springs supposedly for that model but they are wound wire...

    fyi. Took it apart and the sudden red light was quite obvious. One brush disconnected from the wire and laying loose inside.

    Yes, that tube. I did the beginners mistake and threw it away with the oil filter, not realizing it was in there. It was easy enough to make a new tube out of copper. I am careful now when I change the filter.

    I have 8v in my Case Vac. THe generator puts out about 9 v wide open. Problem is I seldom run the tractor wide open. THus I went through a couple batteries quickly. I found an 8v trickle charger that i put on my tractor after use to bring it up to full. No issues with this battery. Ford...

    If for some reason you mount a base without that tube, you will have almost no oil pressure. Not saying how I know.
