    New old guy needs help 300U knock

    I bought a 300 utility with a knock. The ball that supports the front axle, under oil pan had come loose. The u shaped support was riding on oil pan, bent oil pan up, making knock when crank hit axle support.

    Bought at yard sale. Says manufactured by Oliver and Deming, Salem OH Doles patent 1854, extended 1868. Jaws work like lathe chuck. Center turns, maybe to bore something. Any idea of use?

    Anybody ever see a starter with this odd offset mounting

    I have an I 14, and a grader with this starter. These have a spacer between starter and motor.I had to build one for the I-14 grader, and used it as an adapter to a two bolt starter. I may have a rough drawing of the spacer. Frank at Rice Equipment did have one of these starters.
