    1970 JD350B Crawler

My 350B was not steering correctly either, we pulled the seat and removed both covers where Band adj is made, also the brake steering is adjusted in the same cavities. It must be done in the correct order as well. You can with some good light see the band material thickness. (A inspection cam...

    JD350B Electrical Starting Problems

Sometimes the Dashboard push button starter s/w fails from contact burn. I use a Hot-wire from the old days copied from auto theft guys to test or rule in or out switches or Sol. s/w's. Battery side of coil to Battery = 1 wire, Jumper the Sol Switch =1 more, should crank and start or lead to a...

Problem with YTC's Governor for 8N

This message is a reply to an archived post by Bruce VA on May 26, 2017 at 18:50:58. The original subject was Re: Problem with YTCs Governor for 8N. I wouldn't bother with a free I&T F04 ANYTHING, the one I paid for years ago called for a .025 Ignition point gap on a 51 8N! The Dwell on a 4...

    coolant path diagram for 8N

As far as my running for Public Office goes JMOR, I'm just way too honest and I would run on the Platform of a Promise to do Nothing for anyone ever. I will Promise to keep that promise, if I were a Politian that is. 😘

    coolant path diagram for 8N

I will agree to the point of either the stream water turns the Grist Mill or the reverse occurs when pumping using stream power to run a smaller pump up hill. A impeller pump with straight or curved impellers can be powered by outside forces. Blow by often does happen when the head pressure...

    coolant path diagram for 8N

Thank you, great photo. I bought a replacement coolant pump, when I examined it the impellers were curved in the opposite direction of the original! So I set out to determine which was correct. In correct rotation in relation to impellor curve both would pump. The correct curve will pump better...

    coolant path diagram for 8N

Would anyone have a cut away or otherwise simple typical diagram of the coolant flow path for an 8N? From the radiator to the coolant pump and distribution to return to radiator. I surly would appreciate it if they exist anywhere to print out.

    9N/8N Replacement Distributor shafts

Tim PloughNman Daley, Thank you, So you know, I did get that NAPA rotor today and when I put in "on" and inverted the assembly toward gravity, the Rotor stayed on all by itself!! Thanks so much for that part information for the rotor. Beyond a magnet on a RPM centrifugal force for advance...

    9N/8N Replacement Distributor shafts

I'll give it try at NAPA then, most anything would be better if it fits snugly. I have not run across one yet and keep shimming the flat. I wished I would have saved the one that did, I probably didn't really need to replace but file a little. Hindsight wisdom.

    9N/8N Replacement Distributor shafts

Let me know if you tried a Magnet yet on just the edge of your weights. Any Iron or steel of any kind a magnet will stick to. Some Stainless steels are also the same way magnetically.

    9N/8N Replacement Distributor shafts

Correct but if the Rotor can freely turn a degree or two on its axis because of sloppy, cheap, fit's who knows what the mechanical cam advance is affecting. The rotor could be doing anything it pleases in relation to the Distributor Cap contacts. Retarding or Advancing when not locked in a...

    9N/8N Replacement Distributor shafts

I guess it would mostly depend upon the allowable air gap tolerance window + & - in a pickup sensor to the cam lobe mags. If spark advance changes with electronic 6v kits as point systems you probably will see a dwell change with bearing slop on a bench test. Just no more point dog wear to deal...

    9N/8N Replacement Distributor shafts

Thank you for the same conclusion, a dirty piece of a non-magnetic alloy "looks" like any other metal. The magnetic test is best. I didn"t really need a spare coil, since it was just a spare. I lent out without hesitation and is gone. Spare small anything is "golden" on these beauties, over...

    9N/8N Replacement Distributor shafts

Tim PloughNman Daley, I wonder have you ever stuck a magnet on these cast cam weights yet? I have a original cast iron shaft assembly myself but the weights are still of aluminum. It weighs more only due to the cast iron shaft alone perhaps?

    9N/8N Replacement Distributor shafts

Farmer Dan, If I had not prior already retrofitted a shiny new foreign part for under $30, and myself being particular as I am about necessity Geometrically and dimensions I would have reached out, but what is done is done. The stuff available for that component part are of no equal to...

    9N/8N Replacement Distributor shafts

For these front mounts, What I"d like to find is a Rotor replacement that actually fits on snugly, they all seem to wobble. I"ll take and shim the flat after I get a caliper dimension of the mating parts. Placing the offset drive key in a vice and turning the Rotor back and forth they have no...

    9N/8N Replacement Distributor shafts

if it help,s my Evaluations: I paid top dollar for a new dist. camshaft assembly, to me high at + $90 and discovered the throw slots, although reversed in the advance were advertised to work the same on the "net". not the package! I was not going to use it after I also obtained another one for...

    N front mount distributor bolt

Farmer Dan, I received a bubbled envelope today with 2 of your business cards inside only, one end was torn open, about the size of a finger would do and no original 10-32 hex head bolt to hold the backing plate in time position. I only opened it since my wife saw some paper inside and to get...
