Farmall IH 706 Rusted Fuel Tank

I built a rotisserie on a tilt adjustable table , filled a tank off a massey Ferguson 180 with about 3 lbs of assorted nuts and bolts, and sat in the shop turning a crank, I watched 2 and a half runs of a Christmas story and it was clean enough for me , I triple rinsed it with diesel fuel and...

I did a thing yesterday, now the work starts

A friend and I tore down his Dad's 28 x 80 dairy barn, we split the lumber and beams and each made different projects, and sold some of it, we were young and barely had enough money to buy beer for the nail pulling that happened at the end of every day, it was a fun project and nobody got hurt...

Old fuel, bad fuel? In a180

Hello All, here is an update if you are interested, most of what I learned is probably common knowledge, however hopefully someone will find this helpful. I drained the fuel tank and removed it, the corrosion was everywhere inside, I built a tumbler, and spent about 4.5 hours slowly turning it...

    Perkins 4.236

This is interesting, I changed fuel filters on a 180 with a 4-236 Perkins diesel, my hand pump only had pressure for the last 1/4 of lever stroke, is there a relation to the crank position for the hand pump to work better? we had a tough time getting mine running.

A question about Minnesota Massey Ferguson dealers

Lol, thanks, that very well could be , it replaced a international, 460 or 560 I think, and power wise it was next in line to a 1966 1100

A question about Minnesota Massey Ferguson dealers

I am working on a 180 that I assumed my parents purchased new in 1973 from a dealer in Lecenter Minnesota. I was 6 years old and I think I remember it being delivered. When I checked the serial number it showed it was a1970 model. There are remnants of 3 dealer tags on it. I assume The...

    Canister oil filter for 180

Yep , oil pressure was 50 so I think I'm good , I will have to watch it probably would not hurt to run it a few hours and then change it. I would guess there was no filtering with that 1188 in there

    Canister oil filter for 180

Thanks I'm going to install the 1183 , I assume the oil pressure is measured after the filter so if my oil pressure is normal I should be ok. Does that seem right?

    Canister oil filter for 180

I am changing oil in my 180 I purchased a 1183 oil filter recommended by napa, when I dropped the filter canister it contained a 1188, I pretty sure that is not the correct filter. So my question is, do these pictures look right with the 1183 filter in the canister there is so little room around...
