    Pitted aluminum repair

<QUOTE author="winston"><s> /e></QUOTE> It had to be lifted out of the woods with a bucket from a big tractor. It sat there for years. I also have a spare back off a 1300d. I really don’t want to use the 155 because I think it can also be fixed. What would your advice be? Keep in mind...

    Pitted aluminum repair

I would love to repair this and use this since the front end is its mate from the factory. I’ve got a 155d rear I’m prepping to use if it’s something I can’t fix myself. I just don’t know if the gear ratio are different between a 165 and a 155.

I also figured out why the shifter was seizing up. If you remove 28 from 22 and don’t use a gasket #29 to reinstall it will mash the shifter against shifter plate.

The cover or 33 will have to be removed to repair surface and I think I’ve made a mistake in trying to remove front drive shaft from tranny. The seal or bearing came out because I had the cover removed when prying on shaft. I...

    Pitted aluminum repair

Ive gotten the 165D back together and running and was just addressing some smaller issues. I had a front transmission leak I was fixing first. The front drive shaft never came out during disassemble so I ignored it. When I put it back together i stuck it through the tunnel and bolted it back...

    Throttle on YM155D

<QUOTE author="astromarmot"><s> /e></QUOTE> I don’t know about that little clip. I have just bought the 155 recently for parts that I needed to finish the 165. I’ve gotten the 165 fired back up today and learned a hard lesson after cranking on the 165 and getting nothing. There are different...

    Help with wiring

When a connection becomes either loose or corroded, it develops resistance. This resistance dissipates power in the form of heat when current flows through it. Even a resistance as low as 5 ohms can produce more than enough heat to burn up the connection and surrounding wires. The 165 I’ve been...

    Thermostart

I’ve got the wire repaired going to the thermostart and have it glowing red. I added some fuel to the small tank and it works but wants to dump all the fuel out of the small tank. What controls or keeps it from dumping all the fuel out?

YM 1500 died and now won’t start

Take a plastic mallet and hit the starter body several times while trying to start. Might want to check for a loose or corroded connection on battery or starter etc.

Locked shed is about it IMO. I’ve got a wireless motion detector installed in my shed also.

    Just bought another Yanmar.

Just got home and turned over with the fan pretty easy, didn’t hear or feel anything hitting. I then did the same to one of my running ones and it was somewhat harder to turn. My guess is that it’s been ran hot and quit.
