OT: '03 Ford Explorer Trans Fluid

My wife has an '03 Explorer and if I knew what I know now I would've never bought it. I've always been a Ford man, never owned anything else. I'm also the type of guy who checks out cars for any little thing that might be wrong with them before I buy. I'm very piticuar. And after I buy them I...

    9N brakes

I recently put the Sure Seals on my 46 2N, the old brake shoes still had plenty of pad left so I cleaned up the surfaces of the drums and the pads as best as I could with brake cleaner and then I used a propane torch to burn the oil out of the pads. It works really well.Sounds like you may just...

    Post Hole Auger

Here's a pic of my '46 2N with a Northern Tool brand 9" auger and it handles it very well. Three inches could make a big difference though. I guess it all depends on what type of soil you'll be diggin' in.

    Rear Axle Seals

I would like to replace the axle seals which leak like crazy on my '46 2N that already has the Sure Seals. I'm thinking of replacing the outer seals and also putting on new Sure Seals as a good back up. Would this be a good idea? If so how hard are the seals to get off and on?

I made a gasket from old shoe leather for mine. And since I cant plow in the rain a good tin roof does do wonders for keepin' it out.

The Future of Our Great Hobby - PLEASE READ!!!

I am only 33 years old and I have a 63 year old Ford tractor. Alot of the fixing up that I've done to it was just to have an excuse to piddle with. I like the fact that while having fun tinkering with it I'm acctually, maybe, making it better if that's possible. I also like the fact that it's so...

    Front bumper with receiver hitch

Cant say that I've ever seen one like that but it's not to say that it could'nt be done. The bumper I have is like the one sold on this site. It has a place for a ball hitch with 3/4" shaft. If you had a bumper and the reciever anyone with a little cutting and welding experience might be able to...

    Step Plates

Does anyone have a set of the step plates from this site for a 2or 9N? I'm thinking of ordering a pair and just wondering how they work. Do they get in the way of the clutch/brake pedals in any way, and will I have to get longer bolts to mount the rear brackets to the inspection plates?

    russbWA

Yes it's for harvesting and planting. I use it to dig rows for my potatos and then use it to dig'em up in the fall. I use it for all kinds of things though. I once used it to dig a 200' water line trench. I have red clay soil here in N. Ga. but my 2N pulls it really easily.

    Additives

I've heard of introducing water through the intake on a car to produce steam to clean up carbon. But how would I go about doing that to the tractor?

Here's a pic of my Tater Plow that you asked to see in the post below. It's a King Kutter 14" Middle Buster from TSC. It weighs approx. 80 lbs. It came yellow in color but I painted it red to match the tractor and other equiptment.

spring tooth harrow or chissle cultivator at TSC

The only thing I have from TSC is a Tater plow. It's really built good and heavy to boot. I ordered a one row cultivator from them but it has'nt come yet.

OT Bosch Platinum +4 spark plugs

When I first bought my '98 Ford Ranger in 2004 with 77,000 miles I went through and changed all the fluids and tuned it up. I went to NAPA to buy a set of plugs & wires and the guy at the counter said it called for Double Platinum plugs.I was floored when he told me the price, about $46 and some...
