Does anyone have a source for these brackets in the USA? I can get them from the UK but shipping is expensive. Thanks.

How do I remove Dexta diesel freeze plug?

I failed in my attempt to install external tank type engine heater, so I'm going to try and install a freeze pug heater. How should I remove the freeze plug? Will just tapping on the lip with hammer & screwdriver cause it to pivot so i can grasp with pliers? Thanks. Marlin

Dexta temp sensor bulb nut size

I'm trying to add a tank style heater to my Dexta diesel. The threaded opening into the block (where the temp sensor resides) appears to be 5/16" (3/8" nipple is too large, 1/4" nipple is too small). I can't seem to find any fittings locally or at McMaster-Carr or Grainger. Are there any other...

    1960 Dexta 4th & 6th intermittant "raking gears

When in 4th or 6th I get an intermittent "raking gears" sound while traveling down the road. I can't feel it through the shifter, the balls & detents that hold the shift sliders in place appear to be doing their job, and the sound will quit if I throttle down a bit or shift to 5th...

Super Major injector pump drive coupler knocking

There is a knock coming from the injector pump drive coupling at idle. Is this normal for this tractor? It appears to be the regular Simms pump (not Minimec).

    M transmission oil solidifies

When the temp drops to below zero, the transmission/rear end lubricant (90W gear lube) solidifies to the point that I can't let the clutch out (with the transmission in neutral) without killing the engine (& smoking the clutch). I thought there might be water in the lube, but I pulled the...

Dexta: How do I remove the position control follower pin

I have the 3-point lift casting removed from the top of the rear end on my 1960 Dexta and the position control follower pin (I hope that's the correct term) is worn nearly through. How do I remove it from the cast lever that it seems to be pressed in to? Can I tap it out with a hammer &amp...

    Dexta 3-point lift problem

When I move the 3-point lift adjustment lever from bottom to top, on my 1960 Dexta, it will sometimes rise to full height, then drop to about half-height. Other times it will only rise to half-height. Oil is full. Position/Draft lever is in the up position (lever handle facing front of tractor)...

Dexta diesel has fuel in crankcase

Found what appeared to be diesel fuel in crankcase oil. Drained crankcase, left plug out, filled fuel tank & left overnight. Fuel dripping from sump drain. Pulled fuel lift pump away from engine block about 1/4" but don't see fuel dripping from it. Where do I look next to see how fuel...

    Dexta hydraulic pump gasket

I was unable to source an original hydraulic pump gasket & the one I made of fiber gasket material & black silicone gasket maker failed (what a mess). What material should I make the next gasket from? Any sources for a replacement?

    Hydraulic pump gasket

Is there a USA source for the hydraulic pump/rear housing gasket? If none, will Permatex Ultra Black be sufficient? Thanks.

    No auxillary control valve

My 1960 Dexta doesn't have an auxiliary control valve (that I can find). That portion of the hydraulic controls has a different plate on top that has 2 hydraulic cylinder hoses coming from the top and a 3 position lever that operates a valve in the rear. The 3-point lift arms will not raise. I...

Dexta missing live pto front thrust washer

1960 Dexta with live pto doesn't have the thrust washer that sits between the drive gear and front bearing. It's part # C7NN-B777-A in the parts manual. What can I use to replace this part? Anyone have the dimensions that I can take to a machine shop, or one to sell? Thanks.

Farmall M transmission stuck, will not move

My M is stuck in reverse. I cannot get it out of gear and the tractor won't move when I let out the clutch, the motor just pulls down. I've removed the shifter and tried to align the rails, but cannot get them to move. I've raised the rear wheels and cannot get either one to turn by hand...
