1070 steering hand pump

This is for Agri King & others who may be able to help w/this. I posted a message a few weeks ago about the hand pump leaking on our 1070. I did tighten the bolts but it still leaks. I do have a shop manual which was used at a Case dealer that will help in removing the pump but I'm sure somebody here can add to what the manual says. What seal or o-rings typically cause pump to leak? Thanks to all can help.

get an electric fuel pump ,THATS IT PERIOD ! ,,true story ...serveral yrs ago,, I paid some 40 bux from cih for the hand pump on my 1070,,dum thang was a slopaholic soup samich , leaks everywhere ,, brand spankin new ,, took it back they replaced with another just as sloppy, hale with that , got my money back ,, runnin without a hand primer for now ,,heard that cnh is chargin 3 Bens for one of em now,, aint no way I have electric pump on 930 ,,, best durn thing I ever di for that tractor

I need help w/the steering hand pump under the dash, not the fuel pump.

Dennis there are only 2 main things that leak on the hand pump, the shaft seal and the seal (large rubber sleeve) that goes on the rotor end. Since you have the pump out replace both of them. Follow directions in that manual and do not over torque the bolts on the rotor end and you will do fine. Rod.

If you have an later 1070 this is your hand pump, I can't remember doing an early one, the early tractors used a smaller hand pump if I remember right. Resealing this hand pump involves this seal kit, it is 2 seals and a bushing. There are instuctions with the kit.The boot is seperate, it goes under the cover. Keep everything clean. When you reinstall the pump tighten the 4 mounting bolts finger tight & then start the 4 hyd lines to avoid cross threading.
