1100 sickle bar mower ?'s

I would appreciate any info regarding an IH 1100 fast-hitch sickle bar mower. What years were they produced, estimated worth, bar length, just made in fast hitch models, etc. Thanks in advance.

The 3-pt version was called the model 1300, the FH
version the 1100, the pull behind, model 1?00.
Probably 60s, 70s.

I think:

1000--Semi mounted/drawbar mounted
1100--Pull-type
1200--Fast hitch
1300--3pt. hitch

I think production on all began in 1968. All were balanced-head. The 3pt. 1300 was still being built by (or for) CIH at least into the late 80's or early 90's, maybe later.

Rowse still builds a mower with the IH balanced head drive.

With various plates and adapters the 1100 could be attached as 3pt, fast hitch, or direct to hitch bar.
Manual with all data is available from IH or I will sell you mine, original very nice glossy cover for $14.

A feller kiddy-corner in the great Badger State has a large-point balance-head for sale. He had told me a model 1100 and thus my ?. The asking $ is 750 and he returned my call this p.m. We also spoke last week.

Tinkin' I'll take a jaunt, have some good eats both directions with some non-institutional beers and look it over. I'll admit to bein' a dummy about it. Gonna ask if he would hook it up to his International again.

My use will be minimal; a friend has some (lots) of weeds to put it to use on. I would also like to let it enjoy cutting some hay ground again on his place; although he says the haybine crimps for better drying. Yup, I do know that. In the 60's and early 70's my uncles used their sickle mowers and almost always left the conditioner just sit.

With not many implements around anymore; something to attach to a tractor for show also, along with preservation. I'll consider where to store the thing after I get it...why tink' about that now...right?

Any more input from you good folks?

Thanks.

There was also a 100 that was available in a fast hitch version, about a decade earlier, and a 120 also that came after that.

These are well-built mowers and, if properly maintained, give great service.

Check for wear in the wobble box, welds anywhere, and anything else odd or cobbled-up. Guards and the sickle aren't cheap to replace, but are almost expected to be replaced on a used machine.

Parts availability should be good from CIH. Rowse and Webb's Sickle Service have parts available.

The dollar figure is probably low in some areas and high in others. I regularly see 1300's in good shape advertised for over $1000, sometimes higher than $2000.

I have a 120 that mounts to the u-drawbar on my 300, and only really mow weeds and ditch banks with it. I like it, and need to find a 9ft. bar for it.

I have an 1100 model sickle mower and would like to know how to tighten up the wobble box, I'm breaking sickles and that means I've got too much jurking somewhere. Thanks for your help.
