I have a 1957 MH50 would any one know if it came from factory with positive ground or negitive ground? I ve gone through two regulators that will not work. Is it just China crap or i m i doing something wrong

I think positive ground, but as Jerry said, make sure you are polarizing your system before you start it up.

Thats the way i have it i just couldn t under stand Y regulators would not work right out of the box

Make sure the alternator isn"t internally regulated. And if it is make sure it is working.
If that"s the case external regulator will never work.

You don"t polarize an alterntor, just a generator. many alternators have built in regulators and do not need a seperate regulator. I"d suggest you take your alternator in and have it tested if you "polarized it" and then tried to use a VR on it.

No i don t have the VR on with the alternater but my points in the voltate regulator would stay closed with key off draining my battery so i took generator off then put on the alt.
