1206 auction value

There's a 1206 coming up for auction in my area. I know the tractor well which is why I want it. I'm not a farmall guy and I know this thing needs some big bucks put into it, even so I still want this thing. It needs an overhaul, runs okay but lots of exhaust smoke (not black) and tons of blow by. The hydraulic pump is week, barely picked up the vibra shank last time I used it. Leaks of every kind everywhere. The front end wobbles all over. Everything needs replacing. 18.4×34 duals which are around 50 percent. 2 remotes. 3pt. 1000 pto only.I think all the sheet metal was there and in good shape. I figure I'll be bidding against salvage yards. Any guesses on what she'll bring?

A fairly decent one went through an auction here 2 weeks ago---was a no sale at $12,500. Have to be nice and a great restoration job to get the big prices.

I've never seen or heard of a 1206 with 34" rubber. 38" was standard I believe. The way you describe the tractor it is still probably worth around $6000 to $8000. Guys go nuts over those old things even when they are in rough shape.

Neighbor across the fence has the same tractor!A rough 'cob'....It also has 34" rubber.

You wont be bidding against the scrappers.They wont have a chance.These days a 1206 will bring topdollar,even a 'junker'.You will be bidding against 'collectors'.That tractor will be in the 5000-10,000 dollar range

Not worried about scrappers, parts dealers. One gave 5k for a 4020 that was whipped a couple years ago a few miles from me, so I figure it'll go for that at least.

one here went for 14,500 last week at auction, well taken care of tractor though, 3500 hours if i recall correctly
