nice job on the 995,, that 1210 will give you more whoopin hooss when you get done with him,, while you are at it , i got another one of them 1210's over here with a bad crank .. don't know where you are ,. sure wish you were close .., i would do all the greaasey grunt work if you shop teachered me .

That is a nice looking 1210 as it is. Straight sheet metal, horizontal exhaust, no rusted out nose, the original DB weights are a nice touch too. Don't ever see those over this way at all. Real nice.

What does it need?

The only major problem I am aware of at this time is the hydraulic system. Lift is stuck in the up position and water got into the system. The pan under the filter froze and busted leaking out all the oil....So I will see soon how tough this one will be...lol....

(quoted from post at 07:54:51 04/04/11) I live in NC....where u from???

I'm in western PA. J heitkemper is in Loiusville plus or minus a few miles. I have a parts tractor, but I think mine is too early to have that same casting. From talking with JH, his is of the same vintage as yours, everything should interchange.

By the way, That isn't an old 1210 that is a middle aged 1210.

This is an old 1210:

If I could find someone who was heading from Louisville to my area and would haul her for $1 a mile, your problem would be solved.

2700 or so plus or minus 50. We only ever used it for light chores as most of the equipment was too big for it. Now that I am "playing" farmer it gets more use than it ever did when dad was farming for real.

Been in the family since 1982 or so. My dad and I spotted in the junk tractor row out at Yoder & Frey. It had under 1000 hours on it at that time, but had a couple bent push rods and wouldn't run(total parts bill was under
$30). If I remember right, the trucking was almost as much as the tractor cost.

As to yours...
The housing should be available out of a junk yard.

Water in the transmission oil is normal. The usual suspect is the gear shift lever boots. Change the belly filter(part #k920522, about $20 aftermarket), clean the bypass screen, and figure on changing the oil at least twice(lots of nooks and crannies to hold milk oil).

As to the arms being stuck up? I would look at the latch mechanism on the left rockshaft housing. The dowel pins that the handle cams out on can break off leaving it locked up no matter what position the handle is in.

You know of any good junk yards that might have David Brown parts? I tried Roberts in Ohio and he didn"t have the pan I needed. There used to be a good junk yard in Kentucky but I cant find them...I forgot their name..lol....I dropped the filter pan today man it was full of water.....

Burgh in Zeleinople, PA had a 1200 or 1210 last I knew. If you have yours off, take a picture of it, send it to me, and I will compare it to the one I have here. There are at least 3 different ones on the various 12xxs IIRC.

I found a hydraulic cover from a junk yard in Ala. I plan on taking the cover off of the lever that has depth height and TCU markings on it. I rebuilt the hydrualics on the 995 I have...It will be interesting what I find on this 1210...lol...thanks again....995 on ebay right now from Ohio

I lost your email again.

Going to look at one that is close by to me tomorrow. I am rapidly running out of places to put them all.

What model are you gonna go look at or buy?..Post a pic of it...So far all I am finding in the hydraulic system is sludge. We cleaned up the piston and cylinder ...cleaned the parts under the selecter knob and everything seems to be moving now. Gonna put new rings on piston...I am having to wait on them to arrive along with the used filter cover plate....

Another 1210. Has a loader on it. Supposed to have new tires all around, but has a spun rod bearing.

I think it is a bottle opener logo from the sellers description.
