1265 in Bama

The engine/tran/axles are a orange color under the Oliver green. Is this a primer or did this tractor start out to be something else? I think its factory done what ever it is.

Is it orange like Allis orange, or is it a primer orange color? There is primer under the green paint on my 1365.

It is a light orange color and I did not think it was a primer. The green is peeling off the orange on some of the parts attached to the engine and showing thru in scratches else where. There is also some white showing under the orange that may be a primer.

The 1265 Oliver is actually a Fiat made in Italy.
I don't have the chart right in front of me to tell you which model of Fiat it is.

OK,I found that chart. The 1265 Oliver was also a 1265 Cockshutt,Fiat 480,Minnie Mo G350,White 1270 and Allis Chalmers 5045.

It may be something as simple as a retired municipal, county,or state highway mowing tractor that someone bought and painted over. If this were so, it may have been poorly preped for painting, and now you are just reaping the rewards of a poor paint job... Fiats are pretty good units if they were taken care of. Good Luck!

When I went to the U K several years ago they were plowing with Fiats of about that vintage. They were Orange. I will need to look and see if I have a picture yet. So yes it probably is the paint from the Fiat factory.
