Have a Hydro 127 Cub that I would like to use again - when it"s idling in the neutral position it will engage and creep forward or when engaged in gear it will "shift" into higher speeds.

Really only useable if you hold the hyro lever in a constant position as using it.

Easy remedy or real problem & find another mower?
 
The "friction discs" are the brake pucks.Only reasons for it to be creeping are:incorrect aftermarket belt,tensioner pulley,or the adjustment was changed when the belt was replaced
 
probably in the linkage,the part that is on the tranny.had a similiar problem with another CC with that problem. the linkage gets warn over time.
