What are the major differences between the 1086 and the 1486 drive trains. I have found the axles are the same part number. I am talking about from the clutch disc back.

Thanks for the reply. I have checked the axles and final drive hsg since posting and found they are the same. I was curious about how much engine they could handle when handled carefully. Was considering putting a truck DT466 in a 1086 frame. Its a complete rebuild trct. Pto, Torque Amp, Park lock, Eng sleeves, brgs and etc.

yup i'm pretty sure the 10 and the 14 had the same rear drives. the 1586 i believe went to planetary gears. our neighbors have 2 1486's, they turned the pumps way up, loaded the snot out em, dualed em, put radials on em cause the had too much tire slip, then blew the rear ends. then they b**tched that the tractor was made poorly. the 14 is about on the top end of the horsepower to put thru the drive train stock without problems.
