Had to replace a rear tire on my 450 Farmall because of old age. Dealer said had this brand for $525 or could get this one for $750. Just wonder what was the differents to cause that much differents in price. Did not see the higher price one, but the $525 tire lookes good. Three older tractors and when I kick the bucket, all have new tires on them.

I didn't know one could even buy a 15.5x38
still for 525.00?? Not even from China/Russia?
It must be a Left over or a Cheap Tire..

Unless you need it right now, shop around for used.

We just picked up two used in very good condition (95% of tread, no weather cracks), with tubes, mounted on rims we could use for $425. They were Kelly-Springfield tires.

James spotted them on Craigs List.

Agreed.

I picked up a decent pair of half treads 13.6X38s for $200. They have a tiny amount of cracking. But they are so much better than the 45+ year old tires that were on the tractor with dry rot that has left cracks deep and wide enough to see the nylon belts.

You were lucky. I've been looking for a decent pair of used 15.5-38's for my D19 for several years. Used ones are non-existent around here.

Gone are the days when I went to a consignment auction and bought a pair of good 18.4-38's for $20 for duals on an 856 Farmall I owned at the time.

I just checked with my old supplier, 15.5X38 built in Isreal are $516.76 and Firestone SAT2 are $651.33 each. That price is about what I sold a pair for years ago.

I have a set of 15.5 on My SMTA that are Isreali made, Aliance brand, I think. Had them 2+ years, although I only used them "hard" the first year. Seem to be in good shape so far. Seems like I paid about $500 each at the time.

I don't know how old the old one is but I wonder if the $525 tire will last as long. It's not uncommon to find an old tractor tire that's 40-50 years old. Jim

When I needed a "single" 13.6X38 I bought a decent one for $5.00. Same auction I bought a fairly worn (but not weather checked) 13.6X38 mounted on a good freshly painted "M" rim for $10.

Are you NE Kansas?

Like new with tubes mounted on freshly painted JD rims - $700 for the pair.

I bought a new pair of 15.5x38 tires and tubes last month. Total bill was $1193.xx. The coop said that they were last years tires, they were BKT brand. I've had pretty good luck with them. I've got 1 pair that is 10 years old.

I have a pair that are 6 years old, 98% tread, they could maybe go a long way towards a 50% pair of 20.8x38
