1600 charging system

Hey guys, I got a 1600 gas that my buddy brought over to work on because the charging system is bad. He says the owner he got it from put a brand new battery in it, but the battery is dead. Are these negative or positive ground?

If it has a generator, it is a positive ground.

If it has an alternator, it is a negative ground.

Originally, positive ground, but by now just look at which wire is grounded.

If it's like mine, it still has a generator, but I switched it to negative ground like any other tractor or vehicle on the farm.

My 1600 is 12 volt negitive ground generator.
