1650 hydraulics

I have 2 remotes on my tractor. Both remotes build pressure up on the coupler while the tractor is running. If I take a male tip and a hose and insert it into the coupler, a small stream of oil comes out of the hose without moving the remote lever. It is the electro? hydraulics- There is a push button switch on the remote lever. It is this way on both remotes, both couplers. What is the cause of the problems and what is the fix?

I am assuming oil is coming out of the coupler? Does it do it on all hoses or just that one? Check the o-ring on the female coupler and make sure it isn't damaged.

The oil is not leaking between the coupler and the tip. I push the tip in and have an open hose- nothing on the other end- and oil comes out the hose. I have hydraulic pressure to extend and retract cylinders and loads just fine, but it is a pain to connect hoses- it can"t be done with tractor running.

Oil is going to come out if there is pressure on the remotes. It has to do with the use of single acting cylinders and an adjustment screw. Do an archive search for bypass valve and you will find good info. J. Schweibert or rrlund will chime in and explain better. My 1750 had similar issues. I had to take a pin and smack the ball in the remotes to get pressure off. That worked.

There will be pressure there because of the check valves. You need to get couplers that couple under pressure.

To add to that, I used to drive a set of double roll offs with live hydraulics to the back trailer. In the winter. I would drop the pup when it was still dark out, and some times pick it back up after the sun came up. The temp would be warmer, warmimg the oil up enough to make pressure in the oil lines. I have to take the winch bar put it into the female coupler and hit the ground with the other end to releave the pressure behind the couplers. These couplers where the type you could hook up under pressure. I think those tips or something in them gets worn a little bit, and then quite working. Put a new set of couplers on and they'd work good again.
