1655 3 speed

on the in put shaft of the 3 speed when removed is it normal to wobble a little because the on end isnt in flywheel theres no end play it worked fine. got it out for main clutch work.or is there a bearing problem. there was some vibration at the end of 3 speed. looken for that cause too. sprocked on trans input is a little slopy. how do you line up for right highth of 3 speed looked a little low. thanks

Yes its normal for a little wiggle on the input end.The sproket needs to be tight with no slop.

If you are talking final sprocket alignment slip a washer of proper thickness under engine and/or transmission motor mount bosses.

The need of a washer here or there is not unusual. Sprockets aligned the chain coupling will turn smoother and last longer.

I disagree! When you put those washers under there you are also creating miss alignment of the PTO drive. Do it right and use a screw under the over under as recommended. If there is no hole there like there is on the larger tractors, drill & tap one! Questions?
