1750 power steering motor leak

I have a 1750 (1969 model) with an oil leak around the hydramotor stub shaft through the oil and dust seals. Should I try to replace the seals or do I need to remove the unit from the tractor and send it off for an overhaul? The steering is working fine. If this could be symptomatic of more serious problems and the need for an overhaul, can anyone recommend a shop? I live in central Oklahoma.

If it was me I would remove the unit, place it in a good vice and then pull the top off of it and inspect the internal parts and then replace the seals. I have also had the blocking valve leak and send you a missleading signal that you shaft seal is bad.

Ok. Thank you. I did take it off, but chickened out when it came to taking it apart. I just felt like it was too far over my head and had no idea where to get seals or other parts. So I dropped by a hydraulic shop. Keeping my fingers crossed.
