1941 Case SC Out And About

Here it is, the first time out since last August. Been so much going on with school, trying to find work, and woman related issues just haven't had time to get it washed and outside. It will be at the Nowthen, MN Threshing show again in a few weeks. I look forward to seeing everyone there. I also took some videos of the initial attempt at crank starting and driving down the road in 4th gear.

Really Looks sharp. Tranny sounded like a Case, but didn't recognize the sound of the engine. Watching you crank the ol'e girl reminded me of what my Uncle used to say, "She jumped & she farted, she sneezed & she started.

"Didn't recognize the sound of the engine". Is this a good or bad thing?? I do have to adjust the governor yet, but not really sure how to do it. I have read the Jensales service manual about 15 times, but it does not seem to make sense to me. I will figure it out before the show though. Determined!

Thats one very sharp lookin Case! You did an awsome job on that restoration! I just got my LA done this last winter after workin on it off and on for 5 years so I know what it takes to make one run and look that good! Very nice lookin paint job too!

She was hitting on all 4 & sounded good, just that the "U Tube" video distorted it. Don't touch a thing. They couldn't mask the distinctive tranny sound though.

Thanks combinekid! I have been working on this tractor since I was about 12 years old. Plugging away little by little. I am now nearly 24 (2 weeks) and still have little things to do but it is pretty much done.

I have to get someone with an RPM gauge to tell me what I am running at full throttle. Sounds way high to me, but I don't recall ever running this tractor full throttle when I was way younger, of course this was pre-1993, so I would have been.... 5 years old or younger.

I restored a Case "700" but did not change the "M" IH muffler that was on it. I took it to the fair last year and after the parade some guy came up to me and asked where the "M" was that he heard running. The only thing he could see was my "700". I put a new Case muffler on it and now it sounds like a Case. Just a thought. Nice looking "SC". I have my fathers '49 "SC" and I hope it looks that good someday.
