Either someone changed the top tank on the radiator, or your tractor is really a 43, not a 44.

The last few of the 43's had small pressure caps. Those came out in 148500 The end of 43 was 149218. 149219 and after are 44's

According to this web site & Robert's Carburetor Repair web site 1943 started with 143420, 1944 started with 152862 & the 1945 started with 173179. Retiredtractors.com had the years 43-136315, 44-149219 & 45-167700 so who is right here?

I have B 1415## and A 5211## and they are both 43's by Deere when Deere was handling the serial number search. I got the numbers out of a book by JR Hobbs. Check here too.

What some sites like you listed are listing, is the year BUILT. My 43's were BUILT in 42, but are 43 models.
