1948 A John Deere rocker arms

Got my granddads 48 a with the engine torn down. Never worked on a two banger before now. Putting the rocker arms on and they have a oil line on them but nowhere to hook it up. I m confused. Any help will be appreciated [/b]

I think you are missing Key #7 (A2354R), which is a cast iron ''washer'' that fits under a cylinder head nut and provides a port for a fitting that the oiling line connects to.

There is a pipe or a passage (depending upon serial number) that brings oil forward to a port near the head stud in question, and the A2354R covers the port and directs the oil to the fitting where the line connects.
