1949 Farmall Cub

Bought a 49 Farmall Cub so I do not have to swap the belly mower and sickle mower on my 51 Cub every time I need to mow pond bank or road side. Will need a right rear tire and some wiring work, but no major problems yet. The head had been repaired but the edge of the weld was separated from the head so I am going to replace it. Should have it going by the time the pond bank needs mowing.

Looks like the tractor is mostly all there and not missing much.
The battery box is even there! Does it look like it is an original battery box? Is the box in good shape?

Looks like a decent Cub. Id like to have
one with a sickle bar for a road ditches
also. The cylinder heads can get stuck on
the studs and be a real job to get
loosened up.

The battery box and rear light are in good shape. Headlights need some work though.

Only had one bolt on the head that gave me trouble but I got it out without breaking it.

I have already ordered a new head, thanks for the offer.

(quoted from post at 18:46:26 03/09/23) never seen a cub with studs for head bolts

Both of my Cub engines have all bolts in the head but you never know about PO modifications.

This one has a solenoid and push button installed for the starter. I plan on putting a pull rod and start switch back on it , just have not got that far yet.

I have two Cubs. As soon as I get the second one going, I am going to leave the sickle bar mower on one and the cultivators on the other one.

Just curious - where are you located and what did you have pay for a nonrunning but complete cub? Those things are still very expensive in NE Kansas if they look like they can run.

I bought this at an auction in Southern Illinois for $725. It was advertised as a nonrunner, the motor did turn over with a hand crank.
After I finished it photo. It is the one on the left.
