1949 sears riding mower

i recently bought at a flea market a 49 sears riding mower w/24 in cut, still runs an cuts but i know nothing about this mower can anyone help me out.....? ive talked to sears but its like talking to a brickwall.ty for your help in this matter

Just curious, do you have any authentication that it is a 1949? A photo would be nice. Post the model number if it is still there, that may be some help. Nevertheless you have a genuine collectable and an antique!

I've been collecting old mowers and tractors for 50 years. I've yet to come across a riding mower built before 1951. Where did you get the 1949 date and what model is it?

I really need you wisdom. I just traded for a 1939 Sears Handiman RT tractor and I know nothing about how to go about restoring it. Do you know where I can find a manual or technical info on it? I would send pictures but I don't know how to by this way of replying. I would appreciate any help you can give. Thank you, Mike.
