I need some help regarding a 1949 UTS I am considering buying. it has 18.4 x 34 rear tires. the UTS tractors i have seen in my area have 16.4 x 30 rear tires. was there a standard size on the UTS tractors?

thanks.....Jim

I'd take a good look at it to see if it has larger blocks, etc. 18'4s are alittle large for a UTS. I'd like a set of 18'4x34s, my U has 16.9x30s on it now.

My 1950 UTS has 18.4x30 on it. I think that 34 are a little big also. I was told that you could get a UTS with 14-30, which is the 16.9x30 or 15-30, which is the 18.4x30

My U has 18.4*30 tires on it. They are way to big they rub against the fenders so i had to move them in. I thing 16s are about right.

The standard rear wheel was 12x38 the option was 14x30. The tractor sat a little low in the rear with 14x30s. Even though it was a wider tire the small diameter produced slippage. I converted my dad's 52 UTS over to 34s with wheel centers from a G and put 14x34 tires. That leveled it off and really made a tractor out of it. I have a 53UTS that somebody widened the rims out on it and put 18.4x34s on it I also think they are too big, and I would love to trade somebody these wide rims for a standard set of 34s with or without tires.

I could be wrong here, it's too cold to go out and do measuring. But I think you want a 14" rim. You probably have a 16" rim. You could put smaller tires on the wide rim but it wouldn't look right. The tires would be spread out at the rim and the side walls would be extreamly straight.
