1950 injectors

I believe my 1950 has the n-50 injectors.My question is how much can i increase HP by using larger injectors and will the 453 handle it in the long run?No pulling just farm use.

WE RAN 2 1950 FOR YEARS WITH N-65 INJECTORS IN THEM , JUST DID NOT LUG THEM REAL HARD AFTER THAT , THEY WOULD SMOKE A LITTLE AFTER WE CHANGED THEM , THEY WERE RUNNING 140 HP AFTER THE CHANGE, THEY RAN FOR 16 YRS LIKE THAT

I put N65 injectors in my 1950 with a rebuilt engine. I did not gain 5 horse power...You can run bigger injectors, but you have to increase the air intake to achive the extra horse power. Remove the roots blower and install a turbo and the N65's, then you will see a difference.

The top picture is me pulling Dads 1964 model Oliver 1950 at Springfield,MO in August 1970....I won the 15,000 lb class with the only full pull....I was in 2nd gear..This tractor had N-55 injectors and dynoed at 117 horses...It was run in the field this way..

The next picture is me at Carthage,MO in 2007 with a 1967 model 1950...I was pulling the 13,000 lb class in 3rd gear..The tractor has N-70 injectors and has never been on a dyno...I'm guessing 150 horses...It wouldnt work to farm with N-70's..

Theres something badly wrong if N-65's only gave you a 5 hp increase...

You can not remove the blower from a 2 stroke.

Don't forget to turn up the pump? Different injectors on their own are not the answer?

Rich: The G-M engine have what is known as a" unit injector". Each cylinder has its own pump and injector. They are operated from the cam shaft. Do you still have my e-mail? I will send you some information. J.
