1951 model g john deere

HELP!! 1951 john deere model g #55478, the pto shaft has a twist in it and im looking for a replacement, im not sure of the part # is or what is compadable to replace it, and ive called several salvage yards with no luck finding one. Any help would be very much appreciated!
 
Try 785-363-2458 at Waterville Ks. Gary Schroller is his name, and he'll treat you very fairly.

I had the same problem with my 1950 A a few years ago. I was surprised but the local JD dealer was able to have a new shaft in the next day. I remember the shaft, power trol seals, snap ring etc. for the transmission seal, pump gasket and the whole works wasn't all that expensive. It was nice to have a shaft without seal grooves and it's alot better for the #5 mower. Gene
 
According to my parts books, the late 'G' and the late 'A' use the same shaft.
A4124R (old number) is now # A4566R for both models. Might make it easier to find.
