1952 cockshutt 20 paint code

Wilson the paint on my 30 is PPG Omni. Some will argue that the colors are not exactly a match for the original colors. Here is picture of a 550 I did with the same red and harvest gold. To me it turned out a little too yellow. Here are the PPG Codes. Red-78210
Yellow-88234
HarvestGold-83761

If you are in canada these codes are pretty close. Nason yellow PO158IE red H1501IB. I think U.S. codes are different. People think that the yellow is a bit too "yellow". But remember that originally they used enamel and tractors faded pretty bad the first year .....then the yellow looked more like a cream....which people seem to remember most.

Great looking 550! I just finished painting a 1350 Cockshutt and used Omni for wheel side emblems and grille and absolutely hated that paint. Talk about very thin paint, and I didn"t reduce it a bit. I will try to attatch a photo of the 1350.

welding man"s 550 looks perfect for color. As to the other comment made, the paints did fade quickly back then and everyone is used to seeing 50 year old faded paint. Newer paints will still fade or lighten up over time and look better.

[b:bc696c15bb]I use 1980 Ford Pastel Sand PPG 3185. I use it on all the 30/40/50 tractors I do as well as the 500 series. I have been using Nason Single Stage Urethane, not really impressed by the coverage with the Pastel Sand, just because Nason paint is pretty watery, thats why its cheap I guess.
Best
