1952 ford 8n clutch replacement

got new clutch and pressureplate for 1952 8n. on the clutch disk does long end go towards fly wheel or rear of tractor.reason for replacing no clutch pedal.tryed to adjust did not help it. i put a new clutch in it about 22 years a go with my dad.worked till now.
 
Long collar to rear of tractor. Once in there it will be obvious that there is not enough clearance in the center of the flywheel for the long vollar to go that way..

Just for grins, take a look at the external linkage. There is a chance that the problem is a crack in the small cast link, near the bottom, where the cold roll pin sticks out. You may have to block the wheels and then depress and block the clutch pedal down OR have someone sitting on the tractor and depress the pedal.
If you already have the tractor split, replace the clutch, anyway. But, if you still can't adjust the clutch, do the above. Been there, done that.
